LINGTEA wasn’t born from a marketing idea. It was born from a mission.

In May 2017, three doctors set out with a simple but urgent goal: to find a better way to protect lives in the harshest conditions imaginable. At the heart of this mission was Dr. Aaron Woncheol Lee, who served as a field doctor for the Korean Special Forces.

During his service, Aaron witnessed moments that few ever forget. Soldiers collapsing from heat exhaustion. Cases of rhabdomyolysis — where muscles begin breaking down due to severe dehydration. Healthy, disciplined men pushed beyond their physical limits, sometimes facing irreversible consequences.

One moment, however, became a turning point.

"We were training deep in the mountains," Aaron recalls.
"Several soldiers showed signs of severe dehydration and had to be carried down for treatment. The rescue took hours — too long. I kept thinking, what if there was a better way? What if they could be rehydrated right there, on the spot?"

That question changed everything.

In 2016, Aaron introduced powdered Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) into the military system — a breakthrough that made hydration immediate, portable, and accessible without the need for IV drips or hospital setups. For the first time, hydration in the field was within reach.

But it didn’t stop there.

Aaron began to notice something beyond the battlefield — a silent epidemic of dehydration in everyday life. Young professionals surviving on coffee. Students skipping meals. Office workers glued to their screens. Dehydration wasn’t just a crisis in extreme conditions; it was quietly impacting the lives of millions.

The idea for LINGTEA began to take root. A hydration solution that worked — not just in emergencies, but for everyday life. Something easy. Science-backed. Purpose-driven. Not a trend-chasing drink, but a brand grounded in real need and real integrity.
